Good evening first grade families,
I hope you all have had a lovely weekend. The students have done an amazing job at adjusting to their new routines and classroom, and we are having a good time getting to know one another.
Classroom reminders:
Please remember to bring your black back and forth home folder to school daily. We are working on getting in a routine of bringing it to school everyday. Also our library days are on Wednesdays. The students will check out 2 books at a time, one they will keep at school and one they will bring home for the week.
Some of our learning intentions for this week that we focused on were in the area of math. In Grade 1:
Recognizing and Describing Patterns
- I can see patterns around me in numbers, shapes, and everyday life.
 - I can say what is repeating in a pattern.
 - I can tell what comes next in a simple pattern.

- I can make my own patterns, with numbers, shapes, sounds, or movements.
 - I can use different colours, sizes, or objects to build patterns.

- I can keep a pattern going.
 - I can explain the rule of my pattern.
 - I can ind and show patterns on a 100's chart, calendar, or in nature.

Enjoy your Sunday evening friends.
Ms. Craik
